Memorial Gifting is a simple and convenient way for people to make donations to charities in memory of a loved one.

People are able to donate using their credit or debit card by clicking on the link published in the newspaper and the service sheet. Donating online has the benefits that the family of the deceased know who has donated and can thank them plus the people making the donations will receive a thank you note from the charity along with a receipt for tax purposes if the charity is a registered charity.

The donations are held as pledges by Payment Express, a PCI compliant company, until the collection reaches its deadline (normally 14 days from when the collection starts) at which time  all of the cards are charged and the total  funds donated are then forwarded to the charity by Memorial Gifting.

Memorial Gifting  charges the charities a service fee of 8% + GST  to cover the fees charged by the credit-card companies and the cost of managing the process.
